Male Ballet dancers wear thongs its called a male dance belt ,I believe its for support and to maximize ease of motion. So a thong does actually give less restriction of movement compared to any other undergarment. Ive never tried a thong before just a jockstrap.

A thong DOES serve a purpose. As I mentioned before, I run competitively, and wear them. When I am going to the gym, or on race day, and I put my thong on, and make adjustments, everything stays in place. My jumkni nice and secured, and the strap between my cheeks is nice and secured. No disrespect to the 50 year old athlete, but DON'T knock something UNTIL you try it. Just because YOU haven't seen it in a locker room, or anywhere else, DOESN'T mean that is doesn't exist. He said that things serve no purpose. Well, has he worn one? How about he wears one for at least one workout or even a day. Then come back, and say I did or didn't like it for whatever reason. And yes, I am a straight guy who wears thongs. Thongs also provide more movement, less material. And a little side note, throughout the 80s and 90s male thongs were VERY common on beaches, as well as in TV. You can actually go on UA-cam, and see male strippers in their thongs on daytime television.

Male thongs are actually more common than you think. International Jock, Grand Axis, Calvin Klein (yes Calvin Klein), Joe Snyder all make thongs. Actually just Google male thongs. That's how I started finding some of my thongs. There are also different materials for thongs: cotton, spandex, elastaine, ect. There are casual things for regular underwear, and swim thongs. And yes, I have, and do wear thongs to the beach. I do even wear my swim thongs as regular underwear.

Your guess is right about in sports I don't think they wear thongs in sports but it's not a gay thing to wear a thong I'm straight and I like wearing thongs a lot of straight men wear them everyone is different I look it up and a lot of body builder wear thongs

Wow! I would like to join this conversation. I myself am team thong all the way! I pretty much wear thongs daily. And I actually do wear male thongs at the gym. I first have my thong, then the compression shorts( underwear type), and finally my shorts. I am also a competitive runner who does 5Ks, 10Ks, and Hall half marathons. And yes, I wear thongs for running. Again, my thong, compression shorts, and then my actual running shorts. Honestly, it's the best feeling, and keeps everything in one place. I used to wear nothing underneath my compression shirt, and my junk would stick to my thighs, and I'd have to do the awkward adjustments in public. Then, I tried a thong, and never looked back. I have worn a jockstrap before, and really didn't like it. For one, I don't like the way I look in it, and two, I've had issues with the butt straps. I find that you have to keep straightening them out, vs. a thong, well, the strap is going to be in one place. After the initial adjustment in the front and back once you put it on, everything pretty much stays. And lastly, I always change in and out of my thongs in the gym locker room, and NO ONE has ever given me any problems. I mainly get looks out of curiosity, and some to get a kick out of it's but remain respectful. My buddy jokes with me when I'm changing, asking if it was lady's night at the club the night before. And I did have one guy joke with me by saying, "Wow, you have a banana hammock! Are they comfortable?" I told how comfortable they were, and suggested he try them out. He said he wouldn't feel too comfortable with some going between his cheeks. I say go for it. They're comfortable, and are a major confidence booster.
